As part of the regular classroom schedule, you may choose for your student to have the opportunity to participate twice a week in exercises for study, thinking, auditory, and visual skills. Research has shown that the brain can be positively modified if it is stimulated toward higher order thinking. Your student will be challenged to apply strategies for efficient thinking, studying, organizing, and planning. This class is not tutoring but is a small class environment of mediation for accountability in utilizing new strategies and the potential for cognitive change.
A one-on-one session is offered once a week as a means of providing accountability and encouragement to students as they take responsibility for their assignments and projects. The session offers strategies for specific quizzes and tests and help in creating a manageable timetable for long-term projects.
