Jr. Thespians Honor Society

The Junior Thespians International Honor Society is an honorary society for students in the dramatic arts. Students attain membership through participation in their Middle School drama programs, Grades 6-8.   Points for membership may be awarded for technical theater: lights, sound, set and prop design and other backstage and pre-show jobs. Points are also awarded for performing in theatrical productions and dramatic conferences.

Our members have participated in performances such as: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, the musical The Tailor of Gloucester, Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, the Broadway musical version of Tom Sawyer, Willy Wonka Jr, and Cheaper by the Dozen, Annie Get Your Gun, Peter Pan and Wendy, The Wind in the Willows, Anne of Green Gables


In 2015, Jack Godfrey and Anna Grace Malcom were invited to perform before the Junior Thespians Conference held in Columbus Georgia for their excellent scene work with Anna and August.  Joe Francesconi and Colin Style and Samantha Beeson also received recognition for their work.  

At the 2014 Georgia State Thespians Conference Hannah Laughlin, Gracie Harrell, Ava Williams, Braxton Cook and Julie Primos received All Conference recognition for performing Five For All from the Musical Little Women and a superior ranking. Martha Anne Straughan, Kylie Myers, and Brianna Harding also were asked to perform before the Conference.  

2013 congratulations were due to Gracie Harrell for her superior performance in a Monologue while Brianna Harding was recognized for her musical piece from The Little Mermaid and was invited to perform before the Conference.

In 2011 at the State Thespians Conference Annie Lee and Rebekah Middlebrooks received Superior Rankings for their Musical Performances.  

At the 2010 Georgia State Thespians Conference held in Monroe Georgia , David Baker, Matt Zimmerman, Meredith Myers and Rachel Renbarger received Superior rankings and were asked to perform in the conference Showcase.
Matt Zimmerman, David Baker, Annie Lee, Emily Stone and Emily Kiker scored Superior rankings at the 2010 National Junior Thespian Conference held in Gainesville, Florida.

At the 2009 Conference, held in Tupelo, Mississippi, Sarah Stipe and Walker Stipe were given “superior” rankings for their musical duet, Hanging Around With You, from Gershwin’s Strike Up the Band. Other students who attended the conference were Cam Gaskins and Ethan Langston performing a scene from Kidnapped; Grace Pritchard and Emily Stone performing a scene from Pollyanna; Mark Sawyer and Jesse Manby along with Kieran Mayer and Rachel Renbarger performing a scene from The Secret Garden; Bennett Tatgenhorst and Annie Lee performing a musical duet from Wonka Jr ., “I Eat More”; Preston Little and Matt Zimmerman performing a scene from Tom Sawyer.
In 2008, Perimeter students attended the Regional Junior Thespians Conference for middle school students in Augusta, Georgia. Singing in the Individual Events Performances, Sarah Stipe was invited to perform at the High School Conference held annually in Nebraska. Rachel Blair and J.T. Wu were also given “superior” rankings for their performance of a scene from Tom Sawyer
