Navigating Social Media With Your Kids

Join us for Navigating Social Media With Your Kids, Wednesday, November 1st, 9:30 - 11:30 AM, in the Fellowship Hall, Are you confused by the world of social media and overwhelmed by the impact it is having on your child? Do you feel like it evolves quicker than you can keep pace?

Social media is a part of our children's lives, and regardless of our parental approach, it is important that we teach our kids how to navigate the online world. Come get advice from leaders and dialog with other parents as to ideas of how to best lead your child in this tricky arena. Sponsored by Perimeter School, JHi, and Watershed, and Women's Ministries.

School Picture Make-up Day

If you missed picture day or are in need of a retake, picture make-up day will be Tuesday, October 31st. Dressy enrichment attire is required for students being photographed. After they take their picture, they may change into regular school attire. If your student needs a retake, you must email Mary Francine no later than Friday, October 27th so they may be scheduled to be dismissed from class. Be sure to include your child's name, grade, and homeroom teacher. In order to match the bar coding and identify your child's image, you will need to return their original photo packet to the photographer on retake day.

IOWA Testing

3 - 8 grade IOWAS will be administered during the week of October 23rd - 27th. Our teachers are adjusting their lesson plans to accommodate the administration of the IOWAS during this week only. Should your child be absent for any reason except sickness, there will be a charge of $50 per testing day missed. This fee would cover the administration of this test by a proctor, which may require the student to stay after school hours or be pulled from Specials.

Cups of Conversation

Please join Sarah Barber, Perimeter School mom and Charlotte Mason educator, along with Rebecca Little, lower elementary principal, for an opportunity for moms of K - 5th grade students in the Perimeter School community to engage in intentional conversations related to the school's culture, worldview and curriculum. We will meet six times this semester to have the opportunity to grow deeper in our understanding of raising children with a counter-cultural mindset. This group is intended to be an informal forum where we can gather together as a like-minded community and encourage each other along the way. Cups of Conversation will meet from 8:30 - 10:00 AM in the Adventure Room. It will be open to 10 moms, with a hope that you will commit to all six meetings. Dates of our meetings are October 18th, November 1st, November 15th, and November 29th. Please contact Sarah Barber or Rebecca Little with any questions. Click here to register.

Age of Opportunity Book Study

Are you a middle school mom looking for fellowship, encouragement, and equipping? Please join us as we study Paul Tripp's powerful book, Age of Opportunity. Tripp writes that adolescence "are the years of penetrating questions, the years of wonderful discussions never before possible. These are the years of failure and struggle that put a teen's true heart on the table. These are the years of daily ministry and of great opportunity [for parents and teachers]" (p19). All middle school moms are welcome to join us as we study this book together on Thursday mornings from 8:30 - 9:30 AM in the middle school lunch room. Books are available for purchase in the Perimeter Church Bookstore. Questions? Contact Jana Mock.
