Annual Events
See You at the Pole

See you at the Pole is a student-initiated, student organized, and student-led event that takes place nation-wide. This is usually held on the 4th Wednesday in September before school. Students will gather at the flag pole to pray for the school, friends, teachers, government and our nation.

Chapel

Chapel is more than an annual event as students come together to praise and worship the Lord.  Please see the school calendar for dates.  Parents are sometimes asked to chaperone their child's class as teachers may be attending an all-faculty in-service during this time.

Veteran’s Day Celebration

This is one of our most celebrated events of the year. We invite the public to come to our annual Veteran’s Day celebration which is held in November. During our assembly, we recognize our invited Veteran guests who have served in our nation’s military branches. Students from each grade present their poster and essay winners as well as sing tributes to our veterans. After the program, there is a reception for all of our invited guests. During this time, veterans enjoy telling their “stories” which both inspire and educate all of those in attendance. This is something you will not want to miss!

Fall Play

Each year, our drama department puts on a full musical production in the fall. Some of our previous year’s productions have been: Annie, The Music Man, Peter Pan, Ramona Quimby, and Godspell.

This year, our fall production is The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Right to Life Day

Our school is dismissed at 11 am on or near the anniversary of Roe vs Wade (January 22nd) in order to allow our families to participate in the silent march for the unborn at the State Capitol each year.  All of our middle school participates in the march and we encourage the families of our elementary students to participate on their own, or to spend time praying and discussing this issue with their children.

Arts Festival

Another very fun and much celebrated annual event is Arts Festival. Each year, our Art Teacher, Melissa Duffy, along with many parent volunteers organize a whole school day to celebrate either a time period, or a people group in many different art venues. These include song, dance, drama, displays, projects, games, and a special lunch for our 3rd – 8th graders. Dressing up in the appropriate costume is enjoyed by both students and teachers.

Spring Play

In contrast to our full musical in the fall, our drama department produces a smaller scale spring play that is usually performed in the Kidstown Theater.  Some examples have been: Stuart Little, The House at Pooh Corner, and The Wind in the Willows.

This year's production will be Beverly Cleary's Ramona Quimby.

Elementary Track Meet

Typically held early in May, our school hosts an invitational track meet for other private schools in the area. Grades that are included are 1st – 6th grade. This is usually an all-day event. Students compete earlier in the spring during their PE classes for the opportunity to represent Perimeter School at the event.

Talent Show

At the end of our school year, we have an opportunity for students to share their talents for the entire student body. This is usually held during the last week of school. A screening time is held several weeks ahead in order to have the student’s act approved. Details about this are usually found in The 4th wall

Oratorical Recital

Every other year, Perimeter School hosts an Oratorical Recital for other private schools in the ChildLight Schools organization. Students who have been chosen by their grade level teachers are given the opportunity to recite a poem or a selection which they have memorized. This is normally held in April of the odd calendar years.

Honors Day

Perimeter School honors our students at the end of the school year in a variety of achievements including:  Math, Georgraphy, Poetry, Physical Fitness, Academic, Safety Patrol and Writing.  All parents are invited to attend.

Teacher Appreciation Day

Our last day of school is devoted to allowing the students (with parent support) an opportunity to honor their teachers in a meaningful way.  School is dismissed at 11 am on this day.

Graduation

Education at Perimeter School culminates in the celebration of our 8th grade graduation. This is typically held the evening of the last day of school. It usually involves a parent speaker, honors given out to our 8th grade students, as well as special music by our 7th grade girls. A reception follows to honor our graduates.

Annual Social Events

There are several fun events that are scheduled by our  parent-led Social Committee.  Some of our past events have included: a Perimeter School Goes Back-To-School Party, a Middle School Country & Western Dance, a Father/Daughter Dance and a Mother/Son Survivor events. These events are always a big hit as well as family memory-makers.  Announcements and details for these events will be placed in The 4th Wall as well as posted to the school calendar.
