Welcome, New Teachers

Crystal Heyland - fifth grade 1:17

Hello! I am excited to be joining the Perimeter School community as a teacher this year. My husband Nick and I have two boys currently at Perimeter, Jack (6th) and James (3rd). Both boys started at Perimeter in kindergarten, and our family has loved the covenant community, the amazing teachers here, and the Charlotte Mason philosophy, with a focus on nature and the arts. 

Outside of school, our family enjoys golfing, reading, and traveling. I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside students and their families in my new role as a fifth grade 1:17 teacher. 

Julie Durrence - Eighth grade Math

My name is Julie Durrence, and I am so excited to return to Perimeter School after two years away. It feels like a homecoming, and I am grateful and proud to serve the school that has shaped who the Durrences are as a family. My husband Jeramy and I have been married for 26 years, and we had the great honor of sending our two children (Kate, 21, and Ben, 17) through Perimeter School. All four of us have been blessed beyond words by this wonderful place. We cherish the life-long friends we have made through the school and the opportunity to actively partner with the school in our children’s education. I am incredibly excited to use my 25 years of teaching experience and my love of innovative lesson plans to serve Perimeter students once again.
