2018-2019 DRAMA AUDITION DETAILS - CAST LISTS
Thank you to all who took the risk to go through the audition process. Our prayer was that it could be fun even while it was intense. Those of you who are cast in Barbara Robinson's The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, please be sure to note that rehearsal begins bright and early tomorrow morning, Wednesday, August 29th.
2018-2019 Drama audition details - Callbacks
We have called back a few students for Friday, August 24th. Those students already know who they are. Not being at callbacks does not reflect whether a child is cast in either show. Being at callbacks simply means we needed to hear a student read a little more for a particular role.
We will announce the cast list for both shows the week of August 27th. We are sorry to make the students wait – we know it is excruciating, but we must proceed thoughtfully, with lots of prayer!

2018-2019 Drama audition details
Mark your calendars! Auditions for both the fall play and spring musical will be held August 20th - 24th. Students in grades 4 - 8 are welcome to audition. We will cast both the fall show and spring musical from these auditions. Students in grades 4 - 8 will receive an email by July 23rd with details on how to prepare if they are interested in auditioning. IF YOU SIGNED UP FOR AUDITIONS BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM ROBIN MYERS (RMYERS@PERIMETER.ORG) CONTAINING THE SCRIPT PIECES AND MUSICAL TRACKS FOR AUDITIONS, PLEASE EMAIL VALERIE SCOTT.
Scroll down the page for more details on the rehearsal schedules and production dates for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Oklahoma JR!
For general questions, email or call Valerie Scott.
For specific questions, for the director email Vicky Ryden.
Our audition format is a little different this year to help students be more prepared. Each student will sign up for either Group A, B, or C on one day. (We will also be looking for one parent to travel with each group to the different rooms to be sure they arrive in a timely manner.)
THE DAY OF AUDITIONS, STUDENTS WILL MEET THE PARENT ESCORTING THEIR GROUP IN THE HALL OUTSIDE THE DEPOT. PLEASE BRING A SIGNED COPY OF THE AUDITION SHEET AS WELL AS THE AUDITION INFO SHEET FILLED OUT WITH A PHOTO OF YOUR STUDENT TO THE AUDITIONS.
They will go to three prep rooms for 15 minutes each and then the audition room:
1. A dance room where they will learn a dance sequence. Please note that the choreographer will screen in the dance room, so this is a part of the evaluation. We will note attitude and cooperation in the dance room, as well as a lack of focus and disruptive behavior.
2. A vocal room where they will warm up and review their song if they are auditioning for the musical. We would like everyone to go to the vocal room for the instructor to determine vocal range, even if a child is not auditioning for the musical.
3. A script reading room in which they will review portions of script.
4. The dramatic and vocal audition. The last part of their audition will be in the room with the adjudicators in which they will sing and read scripts IN CHARACTER.

Opportunities for drama students
Perimeter School will attend Georgia Junior Thespians Conference on February 22-23, 2019.
THE INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY
The International Thespian Society is the honor society for middle and secondary school theater students. It is open to all students involved in the theater arts. Eligibility is gained by performing and working in all areas of theatre at the local school. The International Organization was established in 1929 and named after Thespis, the Greek actor who, according to legend, was the first actor. We are honored to have a chapter at Perimeter School.
