Georgia Goal Scholarship Fund
Georgia taxpayers, redirect your state tax dollars to Perimeter School THROUGH THE Georgia GOAL SCHOLARSHIP Fund
Redirect a portion of your Georgia income tax payments to provide scholarships to Perimeter School students. For every dollar you give through this program, you can subtract a dollar from the amount of state taxes you owe. If you pay Georgia taxes, you can receive a 100% tax credit against your Georgia income tax liability.
You can sign up to contribute for 2027 now!
Important FOR 2027 -
You must sign up by December 31, 2026, to contribute for 2027. Payment will not be due until mid-March 2027.
The GOAL cap is $150 million.
Contribution limits are as follows:
For individuals:
Complete the 2027 Georgia GOAL Tax Credit Form online. It takes just 20 seconds! GOAL will then submit your application to the Georgia Department of Revenue.
Receive approval to contribute. GOAL and the DOR will notify you of the approved tax credit amount and payment deadline.
Pay GOAL by check or credit card within 60 days of DOR approval.
Take the credit. GOAL will send you a tax receipt for claiming the credit on your 2027 Georgia income tax return. Note: You will take the credit when you file your 2027 taxes in 2028.
For Businesses:
IRS proposed regulations provide that a payment made by a pass-through business to a charity (such as Georgia GOAL for Perimeter School) may qualify for an ordinary and necessary business expense deduction, even where the owners receive a state income tax credit for the payment. Click here for examples of federal tax benefits, which are $3,500 for a $10,000 contribution under certain circumstances.
Businesses can deduct payments relevant to their trade or business that are made with the reasonable expectation of financial return commensurate with the amount of the payment. The business expense deduction reduces the pass-through business owner's taxable net income at the federal level, resulting in federal tax savings. Learn more here.
