Spaces and Places

Perimeter School continues to be a place where students are seen and known

There are spaces, and there are places. Anyone can occupy a space, but a place implies a sense of belonging and purpose. Perimeter School is just such a place. This summer, I had the opportunity to hear stories of graduates attending each other’s weddings, as well as to meet a prospective family from North Carolina who heard about our special place from a friend of a friend. It was a reminder that year after year, Perimeter School continues to be a place where students are seen and known and relationships are rooted and grounded in covenant community.

Commitments

I challenged the faculty and staff with three commitments that will solidify our dedication to remain a strong and vibrant community.

First, as faculty and staff, we will make it a priority to pursue God so that, like Paul, we can tell our students “follow me as I follow Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).

Second, we want to commit “face-to-face” time with each of our students. It begins with eye contact in the morning and continues throughout the day with personal touches as we educate and disciple them.

Third, we want to cultivate our ability to use our curriculum wisely so that our students continue to grow in their ability to think biblically and live redemptively.

As we look ahead to the new school year, we want to reaffirm our commitment to being a school community where children and families can flourish spiritually and academically. We are grateful for the privilege of partnering with you in the important work of discipling your children. We look forward to another year of growing together in faith, learning, and community.
