We Salute You
“All veterans should be honored and celebrated for protecting us and our country.”
By: PERIMETER School Students
Perimeter School will continue our over 30-year tradition of students and faculty expressing appreciation to veterans for their service at the Perimeter School Veterans Celebration tomorrow, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 9:30 AM. We hope that you will join us in person or online!
In preparation for the event, our students have written essays of appreciation for those who have served our country. We are excited to share some of their words with you.
We Salute You
“I am thankful for veterans like my friend Captain Jiung Kim, and because of soldiers like him, I feel safer.”
Zoe, First Grade Essay Contest Winner
“My Uncle Brian told me that to be in the Army, you need to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. One of our family values is, ‘We can do hard things,’ and in the Army, you also have to do hard things. I’m very thankful for Uncle Brian and all the veterans who have served.”
Kepler, Third Grade Essay Contest Winner
“Three things I have learned from veterans like my Great-Great-Uncle is courage, gratitude, and the importance of freedom. Courage is doing what is right even when you are afraid. These men and women put our country first as they work selflessly to protect us. I have learned to be grateful and not take their sacrifices for granted. Lastly, I have learned the importance of freedom. Freedom means we can learn, play, and grow the way we want. I am thankful to live in a free country where I can worship God. To my Great-Great-Uncle Ralph and all veterans, thank you for your service!”
Brooks, Fifth Grade Essay Contest Winner
“My Uncle Pinky’s life was so important, but the thing he cared about most was everyone around him. He was a great person that never left another behind and never gave up. I think we should all be more like him and sacrifice for others. All veterans, men and women, should be honored and celebrated for protecting us and our country. Thank you for protecting the American people. Thank you for putting your life on hold to serve our country. Today, we salute you. Thank you, Veterans!”
Kayla, Seventh Grade Essay Contest Winner
“Men and women in our military sacrifice their lives, families, and comfort every day for our safety. People like my grandfather are heroes because they fight and risk everything for us so that we can wake up every morning and have freedom. The older I get, the more I grow in awe and thankfulness for my grandfather and other veterans like him.”
Lily, Eighth Grade Essay Contest Winner
This is just a glimpse into the grateful hearts of our students! To hear more, join us in person tomorrow, Wednesday, November 12, or on Perimeter Church’s YouTube channel here.
